What is the programme about?
The eduCate programme is dedicated to supporting matric learners from under-resourced communities. We cover the entire Maths and Science CAPS Curriculum, preparing matriculants for their final exams. Our beneficiaries improve their marks by an average minimum of 10% between their final Grade 11 and Matric results.

So how does it work?
Students are transported to cinemas nationwide, where they attend “theatres of learning” for 10 consecutive sessions (five maths lessons and five science lessons) on Sunday mornings.
We’re committed to making education accessible to all, including those in rural areas beyond the reach of cinemas. That’s why we transport the necessary equipment to extend the programme to schools in remote locations.
All beneficiaries receive dedicated mathematics and physical science textbooks with relevant past exam questions in solutions, which are essential for exam preparation.

Programme Goals
Our mission is to cultivate a generation of problem solvers equipped with the necessary skills to succeed. To achieve this, we have set the following goals:
- Prepare underserved South African youth for their Matric Math and Science examinations, with the goal of increasing the number of matriculants passing and the number of Bachelor passes.
- Motivate South African youth to not only pass Math and Science but to excel in these subjects, with a long-term vision of enabling access to tertiary education and economic opportunity.
- Provide support and continued development opportunities for participating teachers.
- Provide participating learners with access to some of the best educators in Math and Science, as well as detailed revision material to deepen their understanding of the subjects – free of charge.
